Trojan Spiritline shows their holiday spirit through their routine and chants

1/30/2025 6:34:00 PM

The Trojan Spiritline kicked off their 2024-2025 Basketball season on the 14th of December. This game was full of energy from the stands, players, and most importantly, the spiritline. Because of a new season, it calls for new captains, and the spiritline welcomed seniors Addi Ballantyne and Eva Turner into leadership roles. Alongside those girls were returning senior captains, Reese Robinson and Peyton Shoffner.

To kickoff the December games, Coach Lisa Summers wanted to bring the Christmas spirit to the court in the girls' halftime routine. On Saturday, December 22, the Valley Christian Spiritline kicked off their annual Christmas game against Fossil Ridge. The night before the game the team came together during practice to prepare for their performance. They wrapped presents to then use as props for their halftime performance, which the audience loved.

The cheerleaders learned the newly choreographed Christmas routine in just two weeks. It was an especially fun performance because JV and Varsity Spiritline danced together for this routine set to a mix of Christmas songs. This Christmas routine is one of team's favorite performances and one of the most detailed routines they work on. Senior captain Addi Ballantyne said, "It's always so much fun and an awesome and joyful experience with JV and our whole team." The audience is always engaged and loves the festive music, and their energy makes the performance even more fun.

In December the Trojan Spiritline also showcased many different chants to help cheer on Valley Christian's very own 3-time Champion Boys Basketball team. Senior Libby Juist said that her favorite basketball chant is, "Dribble it, Pass it," which they perform every game.

December was a busy month for the Trojan Spiritline, full of competition and performances. The girls put in a ton of hard work for their chants and routine and bring energy to the game and keeps the crowd entertained.

Make sure to come support your Trojan Spiritline as they continue to cheer on Trojan Basketball this season.
