This is Lisa’s fifth season of coaching at Valley Christian. She has a strong background in coaching cheer, gymnastics, and dance. Lisa cheered at the University of Kansas, and also cheered professionally for four seasons for the Kansas City Chiefs. When Lisa first started cheering for the KC Chiefs, she was a member of their coed stunt team, and was there during their transition to an all girl’s dance team. She was one of the captains for 3 seasons, and was also a lead dance choreographer during her time on the team, as well as several years afterwards. She was chosen to represent the Kansas City Chiefs for the 1995 Pro Bowl in Hawaii, and also had the honor of cheering in the first American Bowl in Berlin, Germany as well as the American Bowl in Tokyo, Japan, promoting American football in Europe and Asia.
Lisa worked for the International Cheerleading Foundation each summer while in college, traveling around the country (and abroad!) teaching high school cheerleading camps on college campuses across the country, and also worked there after college, developing camp curriculum and coordinating staff placements.
Lisa was also the head coed cheer coach for Johnson County Community College in Overland Park after retiring from her performance days. Coach Lisa is married to Sean and has two children, Gage (‘20) and Scarlet (‘23).
