The Trojans roll through Apache Snowflake and Coolidge with two big region wins

5/4/2025 10:51:00 AM

The Trojans had a jam packed week with three games in five days. This was a big week considering that two of the three games were region games. The Trojans looked to cruise past Apache Junction, Snowflake, and Coolidge setting them up for a strong end of the season. The Trojan boys have only lost two games and look to go undefeated towards the end of the season.

The boys started the week off by going to Apache Junction. The Trojans knew that this was going to be a vital region win and looked to dominate the Prospectors. The Trojans took the win 11-1, pulling away from the Prospectors early with no signs of looking back. When junior Cam Bergloff, was asked about traveling to Apache and getting the win he said, "getting the region win was huge step in the right direction and it showed what type of team we are and will continue to be for the rest of the season."

The very next day the Trojans took on the Snowflake Lobos and continued plowing through games. The Trojans took the 15-2 win in an exciting game. Jaxen Maxey ('26) and Carson Grier ('25) led the charge on the mound striking out 15 out of the 18 batters faced. The player that stood out the most in this matchup was junior Brayden Waggoner who hit a grand slam to seal the game in the blowout win.

The following Monday the Trojans faced Coolidge and continued their hot streak. The boys took home a 24-2 win and showed no signs of stopping. Everyone contributed a little bit in the victory, racking up 18 RBIs as a team and only striking out two times. This rounded out the three game stretch with a massive win.

The Trojans look to keep pressing through the season at this fast rate. The boys still want to pursue another State Championship victory and the future for the boys is looking brighter than ever.
