4/10/2025 9:53:00 AM

Boys volleyball has officially kicked off and the team is ready to take on each opponent that comes their way. They have played a total of 8 games throughout the month of March. They have started their season in a positive direction with their record being 4-4 on the current season.

On March 18th the Trojans took on opponent North Valley Christian. They started their season hot, sweeping the Lions in three sets. With a strong serving game this helped them get in a rhythm the other team could not return. Will Groen ('25) carried the team with his serves, serving 16 points during his 21 serves. Also, as a team, they had 6 blocks that shut down the Lions. This helped Valley go ahead and win a sweet victory in their home opener.

On March 21st, the Trojans played against Scottsdale Christian. The Eagles had home court advantage, but that didn't seem to help them. The Trojans absolutely dominated this game and won in three sets. Senior Will Groen led the team in kills, with 16! This game was a good confidence booster for Valley Christian, after winning their previous game. This left the Trojans with a record of 2-0.

Their next game was on March 24th, which was sadly their first loss of the season. Their loss was a tough game against Seton Catholic in a 0-3 sweep. Despite the loss, senior Kaden Hasse had a good serving day, scoring 10 points for his serves alone.
Next, they participated in the Epic Tourney against 5 teams, going 2-3 in the tournament. This tournament took place at the ASU student Fitness Center. A few highlights during the tournament were defeating Camelback High school 2-0, while also winning a set against McClintock High School.

So far this season sophomore Lincoln Powell is leading the team with 22 aces. Also, senior Travis Christy is leading the the team with 60 digs for the team. Not only are their digs good, their serve receive is too. Junior Micah Morton leads the team with 121 serve receive receptions.

We are looking forward for the rest of the season, and to see what else this team can accomplish.
