11/17/2025 8:57:00 AM

The Lady Trojan flag-football playoffs opened with a statement win at home as the team took on River Valley and delivered one of their strongest performances of the season. Behind a sharp offense showing and a relentless defensive front, they cruised to a 34-0 victory.

Quarterback Abigail Trillo set the tone early, finishing the game with four touchdowns and an impressive 73% completion rate, carving up the River Valley defense with confidence and precision. Supporting the explosive offense, Alana Cross and Rylan Ernst each added two touchdowns, keeping the scoreboard moving all game long. Trillo was very pleased with the way the offense continued to move the ball down the field."

Defensively, the team was just as dominant. Charis Barrett and Kenzie Hackett led the pressure, each recording three sacks, shutting down River Valley's offense before it could ever gain momentum. The shutout victory was a full-team effort, showcasing both discipline and intensity on every drive.

Abigail Trillo posted a 63% completion percentage and threw one touchdown, which went to Sydney Diehl, who scored the team's only receiving touchdown of the game. But the real story of the night was the defense.

Charis Barrett added three more sacks, while Kenzie Hackett contributed two, consistently collapsing the pocket and wearing down the Lions' offense. The secondary came up huge, combining for six interceptions - two each from Rylan Ernst and Alana Cross, plus one apiece from Makenna Bizzack and Sydney Paschich. With takeaway after takeaway, the defense held strong and secured the 9-0 victory. Coach Barrett said, "My defense may bend but they will never break!"

With two playoff wins under their belt and momentum at their back, the team now advances to the Semi-Finals on Wednesday, where they'll take on Heritage Laveen. With the offense clicking and the defense playing at an elite level, the Lady Trojans are lookig poised and ready for their biggest challenge yet.
