Trojans Flag Football Back to Back Shutouts

10/29/2025 8:53:00 AM

After a tough defeat against Gilbert Christian, the Trojans Flag Football team came back hungry. In their games against Apache Junction and River Valley, they won 49-0 and 30-0 respectively, not letting up until the final buzzer.

During the Apache game, they preserved their undefeated home record, playing both sides of the ball the way they've shown they can time and time again: aggressive, patient, and relentless. Some standout players included, Alana Cross with 3 touchdown receptions, Rylan Ernst with 8 receptions for 138 yards, and quarterback Aby Trillo, who threw for 250 yards and 4 touchdowns, completing 56% of her passes. On the defensive end some key contributors were, Charis Barrett with 4 sacks as well as Kenzie Hackett with 1. Starting off the game, the Trojans attacked the gaps early, capitalizing on the other team's defensive flaws, dominating and never looking back.

Following their decisive victory, the Trojans pressed on, not letting up and winning again, 30-0. Aby Trillo showed out again, with a 52% completion rate, leading to another 156 yards and 4 touchdowns, with Alana Cross receiving for 57 yards and 1 receiving touchdown and returning a touchdown for another. Averi White also contributed, leading the team in rushing yards. Charis Barrett constantly interrupted the offense with 5 sacks, highlighting Coach Ernst's prior comment that "The defense is very focused right now," and they're not slowing down.

As the team looks at their last quarter of the season, they will look to harden their defense and maintain their offensive pace and hustle. Coming up on the 30th, they will match up against Benjamin Franklin at 7:00 PM at home, hungry for a victory after their narrow defeat last season.
