5/2/2024 3:37:00 PM

On Monday, April 22nd, the Trojans had their senior night facing off against the Coolidge Bears. Valley celebrated the seniors before the game to show their appreciation of the players. The Trojans have six seniors who led them to victory on Monday night, including Will Bastian, Jake Harrison, Jimmy Twombly, Dylan Suzuki, Gavin Smith, and Abner Ingegneri.

Will Bastian is a catcher and outfielder and will be attending Dort University in Iowa with plans to continue playing football. When asked about his future, Will stated, "I am excited for the opportunity to get to play college athletics and see what the college experience truly is."

Jake Harrison is an outfielder who is committed to Allan Hancock College in California to continue his baseball career. Jake said, "my favorite career memory was during my sophomore year when we had to postpone our game against ALA Gilbert North, so we played them twice in one day and won both times."

Jimmy Twombly, an infielder for the Trojans, has committed to Dort University to continue his baseball career. He shared how much he enjoyed walking out with his parents on senior night and getting to see his fellow teammates also get recognized.

Dylan Suzuki is a pitcher who is furthering his baseball career at Scottsdale Community College. "I've had so many amazing memories with my team through these past four years, but some of my all-time favorite memories were on the bus rides to our Yuma games," reflected Suzuki.

Gavin Smith is a shortstop who is committed to playing baseball at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. Gavin shares, "I am really excited to meet new people and to experience the college atmosphere.  I am looking forward to meeting the new players and to create a new bond with my new teammates."

Abner Ingegneri is a pitcher and infielder for the Trojans this year. He states, "senior night was very special, and it is amazing to see that all of the senior parents put so much time and effort into our sport and show out to every game."

Trojan baseball is proud of all six of these seniors. Overall, Valley Baseball Senior Night was a hit as the Trojans ended their last regular season game winning 18-2. The Trojans are excited to head into the playoffs with an outstanding record.
