The Valley Christian baseball team is now officially done with the regular season. The last few games were against SanTan Foothills, Gilbert Chrisian, Benjamin Franklin, and Coolidge. San Tan Foothills was defeated by the Trojans with a final score of 12-2. Gilbert Christian came to play and Jeremy Kuiper, a player for Gilbert Christian, hit two homeruns, although that did not stop the Trojans. We persevered and had an amazing comeback to win the game 7-5. The boys then played Benjamin Franklin for the second time this season won, 6-2. The very last game was an away game at Coolidge, and the Trojans came home with another win, 8-2. The boys ended with a record of 24-3 including the tournaments they participated in. The regular season is now over, and the baseball team had a fun way to celebrate all that they have accomplished.
On Tuesday, they took a team trip to go watch the ASU baseball game. It was a great time, and it got the team pumped up to play some more baseball. ASU played a team from California, the Cal State Fullerton Titans. There were homeruns hit and excitement in the crowd. The game ended with ASU winning 9-1. This was a great bonding experience for the team and an exciting way to pump up the team and get them in the right mindset for the playoffs.
The playoffs are now just around the corner. Everyone has put in a lot of time and effort this season and it has shown, but they cannot let up even an inch because everything is on the line. The boys plan to play to the best of their ability and aim to be State Champions. They are currently ranked #1 in the 3A State Playoffs and their first playoff game will be a home game at Valley Chrisian against the #16 Thatcher Eagles. This game will be on Tuesday, May 2 at 4:00 PM. Make sure to come to the game and support your Trojans!
