On April 11th the Trojans faced off against the Tempe Prep Knights at home. This game was also Senior Night for the Trojans and Head Coach Bob Davies started with an all-senior lineup of Jaren Jentgen as setter, Lincoln Womack and Luke Wegenke as outside hitters, Isaac Liimatta as libero, Dustin Henry as middle blocker, and Luke Morton as opposite hitter. Senior Grant Tammany subbed in as well, playing all 3 sets and earning 2 kills. The Trojans dominated the opposing team, which only consisted of 6 players, beating them in the first set 25-6, and the second set 25-9. The Trojans also took home the 3rd set, winning in 3. Senior Jared Jentgen who earned Player of the Match that night mentioned, "I was excited to be able to showcase my skills while having fun and working with my fellow seniors." Before and after the game, the Seniors got to take pictures and enjoy the night with their family. Senior Jared Jentgen also expressed, "The entire season has passed quickly, and I am going to miss playing with not only the seniors but with the underclassmen as well, and I hope to carry this excitement and passion into playoffs and perhaps the championship."
The team went on to play St. Mary's on April 12th at home. The Trojans were unfortunately missing Captain Lincoln Womack, but Senior Luke Wegenke stepped in as temporary captain and outside hitter. The Trojans fell behind in the first set and lost 18-25. However, in the 2nd set the Trojans subbed in Freshman Myles Liimatta as middle blocker which helped them push through and destroy the Knights in the second set, with the final score being 25-14. The Trojans fell behind in the 3rd and 4th set, just losing 22-25, and then 20-25. However Senior Luke Wegenke played well as outside hitter, scoring an impressive 15 kills. The Trojans continued into the 2nd and 3rd set, not letting up and coming out on top with the final scores of 25-18 and 25-21. Senior Luke Wegenke continued to play outside hitter alongside Senior Lincoln Womack, who had returned to action. Wegenke performed exceptionally and led the Trojans with 15 kills, earning Player of the Match for his 2nd time this season. The Trojans also celebrated Head Coach Bob Davies's birthday on the same day, while bringing home a win for their coach. Coach Davies commented on it saying, "It was awesome for the team to win on my 50th birthday. We played very well together and swept the talented Scottsdale Christian team. Before the match the players presented me with a couple gifts, including a volleyball signed by the team and a poem written by Dustin Henry, both of which will be cherished long after the season is over."
