th, the Trojans faced off against rivals Seton Catholic. They were very excited and determined heading into this game and were mentally
Abby Grier (11) and Gracie Phillips (10) said that the Trojans had done a lot of preparations for this game. Sophomore Gracie Phillips said, "We have been doing a lot of team bonding to grow closer to each other. We have also been doing a lot of conditioning and working on our mental toughness." Junior
Abby Grier also mentioned conditioning and working on perfecting the press.
The match-up between the Trojans and the Sentinels was an engaging match-up that kept the fans on their feet the whole game.
Ellie Phillips (12) led the team in points with 21, and
Kendall Goncharoff (11) following behind with 14. The Trojans were extremely aggressive on both sides of the court, gaining plenty of rebounds, steals, and layups. After a hard-fought game, the Trojans came out victorious, beating the Sentinels 57-49. It was also an exciting day for coach
Mark Lovelady, who celebrated his 500th career win.
On Tuesday, January 13
th, the Trojans got back to work, facing off against Coolidge. In the past few years Coolidge has been a competitive rival to the Trojans. Last season, the Trojans beat the Bears in an epic game which ended 38-35 with
Ellie Phillips (12) shooting a buzzer beater three to win the game. This year's match-up was a little different, as Coolidge had many of their best players graduate. While the Bears still put up a great contest, ultimately the Trojans won 62-51. The Trojans continued to play aggressively and put up great stats from the three point line.
