2025-2026 Swim Team Prepares for a Stellar Season

9/2/2025 9:21:00 AM

The swim team is eager to begin this next season, having been working hard to sharpen up their skills and stamina! With the upcoming meets, they are both hoping to honor the Lord with their talents while going for the best times possible!

When speaking to the swim coach, she had a lot to say about her team. As she talked about preparing for the season, she said, "To prepare for our first swim meet, the team will focus on several key areas: proper nutrition, mental preparation, team bonding, and effective training. Eating well and staying hydrated will help us perform at our best in the pool. Mental preparation is also important, as it allows us to visualize our races, set goals, and stay focused. Building strong team connections will create a supportive environment where we can encourage one another. Lastly, consistent and targeted training will ensure we're physically ready and confident in our technique for each stroke."

We asked her about her goals for both her and the team, and she mentioned that, "This season, I have several goals: performance goals, team unity and sportsmanship goals, and spiritual growth goals. Performance goals matter because each swimmer will grow and improve over the course of the season. Many of us aim to achieve personal records and refine our strokes. Team unity and sportsmanship are also key, as they create a supportive and encouraging environment that helps everyone stay motivated and uplifted. One of my most important goals is spiritual growth- keeping my identity rooted in Christ and making sure He remains at the center of everything I do, both in and out of the pool."

As we interviewed her, she also listed her expectations for her swimmers, which are: "I expect individual swimmers to be punctual, consistent, and committed to attending all practices. I value a strong work ethic, goal-setting, and a growth mindset. I also hope each swimmer grows in their faith through the sport and remains focused both in and out of the pool."

Everyone on the team is super excited for this season. Marissa Raber said, "I am looking forward to getting to know new members on the team and being able to spend time with them at meets and invitationals." And Brayden said, "I am most looking forward to how we bond, and see everyone grow in their stokes."

Some star players to watch out for are Brayden Stuber, Liam Haake, Emili King, and Abby Husa

Brayden Stuber said, "I am most looking forward to see how we bond and see how everyone grows in their strokes."

Marissa Raber said, "I am looking forward to getting to know new members on the team and being able to spend time with them at meets and invitationals"
As with all sports teams we have strengths and weaknesses, but as Brayden Stuber puts it, "We mostly just need to start trying to find every small thing that make us slower in the water, and if the team can cut that off, then we might Have a shot at making state."
Marrisa Raber says that "A key swimmer that has impacted me and the team is sophomore, Abby Husa, she is super joyful and an amazing swimmer. She works hard and is always encouraging and uplifting the team."

This year's Swim team is looking fantastic and ready to hit the water to make a splash in the meets this year! Make sure to come check them out this year!
