11/6/2025 1:18:00 PM

Valley Christian's very own Swim team has had an outstanding season so far. Each meet has prepared them and allowed them to narrow in on the goal of showing out at State and performing their very best.

Coach Taylor mentioned, "The team did great" at the Brophy meet. She continued to say that, "We've seen a lot of improvement this season in both technique and speed, and it' been so encouraging to watch the swimmers push each other and grow stronger as a team."

There have multiple personal records set throughout this season, which is difficult to accomplish but is proof of their hard work and dedication to this sport. Now, with the Brophy Last Chance Invite having concluded, the swimmers will be focusing their time and energy on the State championship.

Coach Taylor proceeded to state, "As we head into State, our main goals are to stay focused on strong technique, consistent effort, and swimming with purpose." It is wonderful to see these athletes pouring into their work ethic and training to be the most talented swimmers they can become. These efforts will prove to be a big contributor when they show out at State.

Not only that, but the Swim team has been rooted through God throughout their season. Coach Taylor said, "Beyond the competition, we also talk a lot about keeping the right perspective – remembering that our effort and attitude in and out of the pool are ways we can honor God." She uses Colossians 3:23, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord" to put her team in the right perspective on working diligently with both sports and the relationship with God.

When asking Ella Boehler (28') about how she felt about the overall performance of the meet, she said, "I feel like the team did really well. We performed our very best and got really good times. Me personally, I could have done better, but everyone did really well." Her affection for her team is evident and it's clear that she wants to continue pushing herself to be best version of a swimmer she can be.

Some standout athletes that deserve honorable mention are Liam Haake, who earned a 1:09 in the100 Fly and Brandon Andersson (28'), who got a time of 1:15.83 in the 100 Back, during the Brophy meet. These athletes' constant strive to be better is truly showing in their performances.

Be sure to show out to the State championship and cheer on your Trojan athletes as they push for excellence in this upcoming meet.
