The Valley Christian Trojan Track & Field Team has been hard at work this season. They have been actively competing in meets for a good portion of the last couple of months. The most recent competition was the Chandler City Meet at Chandler High School. The Trojans competed against every Chandler City school and produced fantastic results. Although some did not place as high as they had hoped, the ability to compete with a big portion of teams in Arizona is something that the team will need if they wish to try to capture a state title.

The boys team had a great showing overall. They competed well against very tough competition and grew a lot personally.

• Senior Llewellyn Payne ran a PR of 11.35 in the 100 meters.
• Junior Colton Gauthier and senior Calvin Gage both ran PR in the 200 meters, 23.73 and 24.42 respectively.
• Senior Jonah Baxter also PR'd in the 400 meters with a time of 52.44.
• Micah Newkirk ('26) placed 5^th and 6^th in the mile and 800.
• Ethan Hodgson ('26) won the 110m hurdles with a PR of 14.43, and junior Caleb Goldman also PR'd in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.90 and a 3^rd place finish. Caleb also placed first in the 300m hurdles.
• Our boys 4x1 team (Llewellyn Payne, Colton Gauthier, Ethan Hodgson, and Caleb Goldman) PR'd and placed 4^th overall.
• Alex Hons ('26) placed 5^th in shot put with a throw of 43-09.00ft.
• Junior Finnley Roth won 1^st place in pole vault with an amazing jump of 15ft.

Our girls team also showed up and put on a great performance in readiness for the state meet coming up. The team did not have any 1^st place finishes in this meet, but they still have some athletes who deserve praise for their accomplishments:

• Both Angie Snape ('26) and Alana Cross ('27) ran a personal best in the 100 meters.
• Sophomore Lauren Payne ran a PR in the 200m with a time of 2:19.01 and received a 3^rd place finish.
• Sophomore Mara Mellberg placed 2^nd in the mile and PR'd with a time of 5:24.86.
• Ellie Phillips ('26) and Ellie Edwards ('26) placed 1^st and 2^nd in the 2 mile.
• Isabella Goldman ('26) placed 4^th in the 300m hurdles.
• Our girls 4x1 team (Isabella Goldman, Alana Cross, Shayah Kubat, and Angelina Snape) ran a PR of 51.46 and placed 6^th overall.
• Senior Taylor Miser jumped a PR in triple jump with a jump of 33-02.00 and placed 5^th.

Both our teams will continue to show up as they finish out their season and hope to capture another state title!
