On May 9
th and 10
th, the Trojan Boys Track and Field team participated in the AIA Division IV State Track Meet at Deer Valley High School. The girls and boys teams did very well and placed in multiple events, winning the team a plethora of points. The Trojan boys finished as state runner-ups at the end of the meet!
The girls had a very good chance at winning state coming into the meet; however, they fell short during the meet and placed 3
rd. The boys, however, had an exceptional meet! Many of the boys team athletes placed, winning their team enough points to clinch the state runner-up title.
The distance team competed very well during the meet.
Micah Newkirk ('26) ran the 3200 meters and achieved 3
rd place. Micah also placed 4
th during the 1600 meter and ran the 800 meters and placed 3
rd overall.
The jumps teams also performed well.
Noah Lewis ('27) competed in the high jump and achieved 4
th place.
Finnley Roth ('26) competed in pole vault and placed 1
st overall!
Brayden Fraley also competed in pole vault and placed 11
th.
Ethan Hodgson ('26) competed in the high jump and achieved 9
th place.
Brody Davenport ('26) competed in the triple jump and placed 14
th overall.
Multiple hurdlers placed during the meet.

st in the 110 meter hurdles.
Caleb Goldman ('26) placed 2
nd in the 110 meter hurdles. Caleb also placed 2
nd in the 300 meter hurdles while Ethan placed 7
th in the 300 meter hurdles.
The boys 4x1 team achieved 5
th place overall. This team consisted of
Caleb Goldman,
Ethan Hodgson,
Calvin Gage ('25), and
Colton Gauthier. The 4x4 team placed 8
th. This team consisted if
Caleb Goldman,
Jonah Baxter ('25),
Justen Bradford ('27), and
Micah Newkirk.
The boys throwing team also performed well. Alexei Hons ('26) placed 9
th in shot put.
Jackson Kuyoth ('26) placed 11
th in shot put.
Ethan Gomez ('25) threw javelin and became the state champion!
The boys sprints team had one stand-out athlete:
Colton Gauthier placed 6
th in the 100 meters.
Overall, the Trojan boys track and field team had an amazing state meet. As a team, they scored 78 points, beating the third-place team by 19 points.
