Trojan Track & Field had a couple of meets between to closeout the month of March including the Chandler Rotary Invitational and the Valley Christian Early Qualifier. The team is getting back into the swing of things coming back from spring break and will continue to train hard and perform well at meets as the season progresses.
Chandler Rotary Invitational, March 21-22, 2025
The Chandler Rotary Invitational is one of the biggest meets in the entire southwest region. There were over 160 high schools and 5,750 total athletes entered into the meet this year. Most of the events happen on Friday, but the seeded and elite events take place on Saturday.
- Boys:
- Ethan Hodgson ('26) got a PR in the 300m hurdles running 40.88 seconds, and he won his race in the Friday session. He also competed in the elite 110m hurdles and ran 14.82 seconds, which was good enough for 9th place overall.
- Ethan Gomez ('25) won the elite javelin session throwing 189-04 feet.
- Finnley Roth ('26) got fifth in the elite pole vault reaching 15'01".
- Caleb Goldman ('26) competed in the seeded session for the 300m hurdles, and he ran 41.57 seconds.
- Girls:
- Ellie Edwards ('26) won her race during the Friday session, running a huge PR of 12:07 seconds in the 3200 meter run.
- Mara Mellberg ('27) ran a PR of 5:25 in the 1600 meter run and 12:16 in the 3200 meter run
- Brooke Gillis ('26) finished 6th in the pole vault with a 9'7" jump
- Averi White (10) finished 4th in the Saturday seeded section of pole vault with a jump of 10'1"

The Trojans have had some spectacular performances and will continue to train well for their upcoming meets. Their next meets are both on Saturday, April 5
th. They are the Becky Matthews Invite at Desert Vista and the Scottsdale Distance Classic at Saguaro High School. Make sure to be there and support the Trojans!
