The Trojan & Field team competed in two separate meets held at Desert Vista this season. The first of these meets was the Thunder Invite held on Friday, February 28th and the second was called the Becky Matthews Invitational on Saturday, April 5th. In both meets the Trojans put on remarkable performances and showcased their growth.
As the Trojans race towards state, athletes are shaping up and getting ready to dominate again this year.
From our meets at Desert Vista here are a few athletes with incredible performances:
Boys:
The boys are seeking high placement at State this year and are battling to get as many athletes as possible into the state meets. When asked about his races junior Micah Newkirk said, "It was a very good way to start the season and it felt good to be out on the track, I'm really looking forward to getting more PRs and placing high at state."
Girls:
The girls have a strong change to win a title at state again this year. Last year they finished in 3rd and are hoping to take home the gold this year!
The Trojans are competing next on April 12th in the Al Nelson Invitational hosted here at Kuiper Track. Bring a buddy and come support the Trojan Track and Field team as they get ready to finish the year strong.
Go Trojans!!!
