DIVISION II TEAM STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Trojan Beach Volleyball finished up their regular season on Wednesday, April 10
th with a 4-1 win over Gilbert Christian. They finalized their season with a 9-2 record and this secured their spot in the Division II Team State Tournament ranked #7. The Trojans started the State Tournament on Tuesday, April 16
th with a home game against the #10 Rancho Solano Prep Mustangs. They took the 4-1 win and started off strong in playoffs. This was a good start to this tournament to help prepare them for what is to come next.

They continued into the second round of playoffs against the #2 seed, Arcadia, on Thursday, April 18
th. Entering this matchup, the Trojans knew it would be a battle. They entered this match knowing they had nothing to lose since they were the lower seed, but also because they had several JV girls playing up since several Varsity players were at club tournaments or out sick. The girls played their best and put all of their effort into it. Two of the games went to three sets and they battled as hard as they could but were not able to pull through. Sadly, the lady Trojans lost this round 1-4, ending their season as a team.

The Trojans are ready to come back stronger than ever next year as they have a young varsity team and a strong JV team. The players and coaches are excited to see what they can accomplish next season.
DIVISION II PAIRS STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Division II Pairs State Tournament begins on Monday, April 29
th at 5:00 pm. The Trojans will have senior
Kaiya Haase and junior
Claire Gilbert to represent Valley Christian. These players have had a strong season and are ready to compete in the State Tournament. Kaiya and Claire have been preparing together all season not only at VCS, but also at One Beach Club Volleyball. These two players have a history of playing together and competing in tournaments with One Beach. Their chemistry has been growing as players more and more each time they play together. Fans are excited to see what these two players can do and how they can represent VCS as athletes. Their first game will take place at Casteel High School against Arcadia. Arcadia has a strong team and are ready to compete as well. This will be an even match up between these two pairs as the winner will move on to the next round. If they win this match, they will continue on in the tournament the following day, April 30
th, at 5:00 pm. Come cheer on your Lady Trojans as they enter in the pairs tournament.
