The Trojans faced off against the Marcos De Niza Padres At Kiwanis Park on Wednesday, March 27th. The Padres proved no match for the Lady Trojans, being swept in every game. In the 4's and 5's games, the Trojans utterly dominated, beating them by double digits in every set. Nothing changed in the 3's and 2's, both being blowouts as well. The #3 pair of Madison Brown-McAlpine and Eliana Gregg held their opponent to a whopping four points, completing set two 21-4 and winning the game. In the 1's game, the captain duo of Claire Gilbert and Kaiya Haase finished the team sweep, winning 21-15 in the first set and 21-8 in the second.
Marcos De Niza Results
After a days rest, the Combs Coyotes traveled to Valley on April first, hoping to finally take down the undefeated Trojans. In the 5's game the Trojans came out on top, winning two of three sets. Although the game looks close set-wise, the numbers tell otherwise. Kaylee Dancer and Morgen Hackett had won set one and three, limiting their opponent to less than ten points in each of the sets. Seniors Morgan Bradford and Avery Schmidt took both sets in the 4's slot, 21-13 and 21-11. The 2's and 3's games were dogfights. The 3's, juniors Taylor Miser and Aubrey Miller took two close sets, 21-17 in both. The 2's game was very similar, with the sophomore pair this time taking both sets, 21-17 in both as well. the 1's game, led by the captains, was not as close, but entertaining nonetheless. They finished off the Coyotes, taking both sets easily and completing yet another sweep this season. At the conclusion of this game marked the sixth clean sweep of the season, as well as extending the Trojans' winning streak to eight and remaining undefeated.
