On Thursday, April 6th the Valley Christian beach volleyball team played away at Combs, where they continued their winning streak with all 5 pairs taking home a victory. The games were tight with both the 3's and 4's teams taking it to three sets, but the Trojans came out with a victory in both. The Beach Volleyball girls do not mess around, they came to win, and did exactly that. Throughout the match the Valley beach team showed excellent sportsmanship, representing the Lord well.

On Monday April 10th, the beach volleyball team was away against Seton Catholic. It was a warm day for a beach game, so all the girls were making sure to stay hydrated. Valley crushed Seton Catholic by all five pairs, winning big over the Sentinels! There were so many fans at the game on Monday and it was obvious that the athletes were having a fun time playing. Madi Brown-McAlpine and Morgan Bradford dominated in the 5's game, winning 21-5, 21-6. Ellie Stuber and Kaiya Haase secured another victory in the 4's slot, winning 21-14, 21-17. Avery Schmidt and Kalei Hawkinson won the deciding match in the 3's slot in a tight 3-set victory, winning 13-21, 21-17, 15-13. Claire Gilbert and Kelsey Brooks added another win in the 2's, with the score being 21-14 in both sets. Finally, Kate Phillips and Korah Nordin continued to show their dominance in the 1's game, winning 21-12, 21-8.
The regular season ended on a doubleheader against Eastmark and Gilbert Christian. Valley Christian won both matches 4-1. Against Gilbert Christian Kate and Korah dominated in 2 sets while the rest of the pairs (Gilbert/Brooks, Gregg/Gerard, Brown-McAlpine/Bradford) won in three. Becca Pomerenke and Kalei Hawkinson put up a good fight in the 4's slot, but lost both sets 21-11.
In the Eastmark matchup the 5's (Brown-McAlpine/Bradford) came out strong, winning 21-15, 21-11. Kaiya Haase and Taylor Miser came out hot, securing a 2 set victory – 21-15, 23-21. Unfortunately, Schmidt and Hawkinson dropped their match in two, losing 17-21, 11-21. Gilbert and Brooks had a close match, going to three sets, and came out on top 21-19, 9-21, 15-10. Finally, Nordin and Phillips crushed it once again, winning in 2 sets, 21-9, 21-6.
The Trojans ended the regular season with a record of 13-2, ranked #1 in their section and #5 in the state. This secured them a spot in the state playoffs, which starts today. The girls are taking on the #12 Saguaro Sabercats at home at 4:30 pm.
