Esports Road to State

5/4/2025 1:20:00 PM

The Valley Christan Rocket League team has played extremely well this season and have now entered the playoffs on April 17th. The Trojan Esports team has come a very long way, working hard and winning every game without a single loss. With the help of Jon Hunsaker, their coach, they were able to have faultless performances and flawless victories. He brought them through a perfect season, and they haven't lost a single game, and only two other schools have similar scores. This is why we have a very high chance of winning the state championship.

The team is very confident in winning and has a very high chance of at least making it into the semifinals and are most likely to win the State Championship. Chase DeBoer ('25), the team captain said, "We are favored to win the title for the first time ever in the program's history in Rocket League, and any finish other than top two, we aren't satisfied with."

Throughout their entire season, they have won every single match without letting the opponents come even close to having a chance. They have come so far and deserve to win the State Championship. It would mean everything to them; they have worked hard together and tried their best in every match.

In the first game of the playoffs, Chase DeBoer, Christopher Meier ('27), and Sam Odom ('25), played against a challenging team, Arizona College Prep. They entered the matchup with a record of 7-3 in regular season games and were 1-1 in the playoffs, but we still came out victorious. The game after that was on April 24th at 4:00pm where the boys played against the Eastmark Firebirds in the quarterfinals. They had an outstanding match and beat them 3-0, leading them into the Semifinals.

After the Semifinals is the State Championship, all being held on May 3rd. These will both be held in person at San Tan Ford Club at Mountain America Stadium. The address is 500 E Veterans Way, Tempe, AZ 85287.

Let's go and support Valley Christian's future Esports State Champions.
