The Valley Christian Trojans softball team secured their third consecutive region title in dominant fashion this week, sweeping a two-game series against the Coolidge Bears with a combined score of 30-1.
Game One: Kremlacek Tosses No-Hitter in 15-0 Shutout
On April 14, the Trojans opened the series at home with a statement win, blanking Coolidge 15-0 behind a no-hit performance from sophomore ace
Leigha Kremlacek. The right hander struck out 11 and allowed just one baserunner in five innings of work, continuing her season-long dominance in the circle.
The offense backed her up early, putting up six runs in the first two innings. Sophomore Ryan Nelson's two-RBI single and junior
Abrielle Jarles's solo home run (her seventh of the season) sparked the first-inning surge, followed by a two-run homer from Kremlacek (her first of the year) and an RBI double from
Makay Fraley ('27) in the second.
A fourth-inning explosion sealed the deal, as the Trojans put up eight more runs on hits from
Taya Clausen ('25), Sophie ('26) and
Sisi Kercsmar ('27),
Amelia Bowman ('27), and Clausen again, who drove in two with a second hit in the inning, Bowman led the team with three hits, while Clausen and Kremlacek each tallied three RBIs.
Game Two: Fraley Powers Trojans to 15-1 Victory
The Trojans kept their foot on the gas April 17 at Coolidge, where
Makay Fraley delivered one of her most impressive performances of the season. The sophomore displayed her duality, going 4-4 with two home runs and two bunts. Her two home runs were the first she collected this season, and they came in the second and again in the fifth. She finished with six RBIs on the day.
Valley Christian jumped ahead early, plating three runs in the first and adding three more in the second behind the explosive offense. The fifth inning saw another offensive eruption, highlighted by the three-run blast and a two-RBI double from freshman
Corinne Rodgers.
Clausen picked up the win in the circle, giving up just one run on five hits o ver five innings, while striking out six without issuing a walk. The Trojans were nearly flawless in the field, committing no errors and getting key defensive contributions from catcher
Amelia Bowman and the infield.

With these two wins, Valley Christian officially locked up the region title for the third year in a row – an impressive milestone that underscores the program's consistency and depth. The Trojans (9-0 in the region) will look to carry their momentum into their upcoming matchups.
