Esports performs flawlessly in March, maintaining undefeated record

4/7/2025 3:08:00 PM

The Trojan Esports team played very well in March and are an extremely underrated team on campus. They are currently 10-0 for Rocket League and 8-0 for Super Smash Bros. The boys are incredibly talented and far ahead of anyone they go against. They are able to compete against higher divisions and still come out triumphantly. The Trojan Esports team is very successful, and they have great communication and teamwork.

Throughout March, the Rocket League team performed flawlessly, winning 4 out of 4 games. The current standing is 1st place for Valley Christian and right behind them is Liberty High School. On March 6th, Chase DeBoer ('25), Daniel Hammond ('26), and Jackson Kuyoth ('26) won against the Ironwood Warriors. It was an outstanding game, with the boys winning 3-0 without letting them score a single goal. On March 18th, Chase DeBoer, Christopher Meier ('27), and Sam Odom ('25) won the second game of March. This time the enemy team, the Carl Hayden Falcons, showed some skill and scored 2 goals in the second round but no others in the first or third. Meanwhile, the boys scored 5 times in the first round, 8 in the second, and 12 in the third, resulting in a 3-0 game.

The more recent game against Liberty was a little more difficult but they still dominated throughout the rest of the game. The Rocket League Team Captain, Chase DeBoer said, "In our last game against Liberty, a really good team, we beat them 3-1 in the series. They put on a great performance, and we hadn't really been tested like that before so getting the win against them was a great reminder for us to keep confidence in our skills." This was their hardest opponent they had faced up to this point in the  season and they still won by a long shot. They saw a challenge, accepted it and still came out victoriously. This shows that they don't give up and try their hardest against every team they face. They continued with this mindset and won the next game on March 31st, winning 3-0.

The Super Smash Bros Team performed just as well, winning 4 out of 4 games. On March 5th, the Trojans played extremely well, beating Sunnyslope 6-1. Game 1 was led by Wesley Gentala ('25), game 2 was led by Mecca Brisbon ('26), and game 3 was led by Derek Harp ('26). They won their next game on March 19th, due to a forfeit. The same people from the first game of the month played in this one and won 6-2. The last game was on March 26th, against Arcadia, where the Trojans won 5-2. This was their closest game during March, and even then, they won by a huge amount.

The next game for Super Smash Bros is on April 2nd and the Rocket team plays on April 3rd. Not losing a single game during March is a very hard thing to accomplish. They have done extremely well this year and are still continuing to crush everyone else. So, let's go support these boys while they keep winning.
