The Valley Christian Girls Soccer Team has had an amazing season so far, with many wins. They currently have a season record of 10-15, with more games to come with the playoffs approaching.

All the players have worked extremely hard and have shown perseverance throughout the season. The team has worked together to crush their competition and go for the win. Girls soccer captain Layla Heller ('24) said, "This year has been my favorite season, because of the team. We all care about each other and have each other's backs".

The key to their success this season has been their teamwork, allowing them to beat great teams. Once example of this came in the December 10th season kickoff game against the Florence Gophers. This game was very intense with many struggles to even make a goal until sophomore Tatum Mitchell scored the first goal of the game. After that the Trojans worked together by passing the ball to senior Abigail Stipp, who scored two goals, and then at the end of the first half of the game senior Layla Heller scored the final goal.

Towards the end of January, the Valley Christian girls soccer team had a great couple of games to finish the regular season. They played a tough game on Wednesday, January 29th against Odyssey Institute where the Trojan soccer captains Sydney Paschich ('26), Abigail Stipp ('25), and Layla Heller ('25) all scored goals, resulting in a 3-0 victory.  On the 31st of January the Trojans made the five-hour drive up to Page, where they played against the Page Sand Devils. It was in this game that the Trojans won 8-1 and senior Abigail Stipp scored six goals, beating Valley's record for career goals! This victory made the drive back more enjoyable for the Trojans.  Going into February the Trojans played Bourgade Catholic for their final regular season game of the year, where they beat the Golden Eagles with a winning score of 13-0. The highlight was when senior Emma Malmin was able to score her first goal of the season!

The Trojan girls' soccer season has had an amazing season so far! We cannot wait to see how the Trojans compete going into the state playoffs. Please come out to support the girls soccer team on Wednesday February 12th on Benson Field against Push Ridge!

Go Trojans!
