The first week of games for Valley Christian Girl's Soccer went spectacular for them. On Monday December 1st, Valley Christian played Florence High School at home. The end result was 3-2, although doesn't quite reflect the true game. Valley Christian held possession majority of the time, and being their first game played exceptionally well. The players have some room to grow and should be ready for their more challenging games in January.
Raegan Randleman scored the first goal early on in the match, and came up with the second goal. Freshman Makayla Henley finished off the game with the last goal, with 5 minutes left. This game was definitely a nail bitter.
Moving on to Wednesday, Valley Christian traveled 4 hours north to Kingman High School. Not only was it way colder than the girls were used to, but also 20 mph winds were in affect during the match. The Lady Trojans fought through adversity with the end score 4-0.
Junior and team captain Tatum Mitchell said, "We fought hard through the cold at Kingman even though we weren't used to it and really connected as a team."
Junior Raegan Randleman hand another great performance, earning a hat trick, and Senior Sydney Paschich added another goal. The Trojans worked hard this game to continued to persevere by working out the kinks of positioning and how to effectively work together as a team.
With the new Head Coach Aaron Etzel and assistant Coach Claudia Chandler, the team has benefited from their amazing skills to lead girls soccer to two victories in the first week, and hopefully many more to come.
Senior and Captain Sydney Paschich states, "It's really encouraging to see how progressed our team is and how our new players are picking up the game. I'm very excited to see how the season plays out!"
