The Valley Christian Trojans had a dominant performance against Seton Catholic Sentinels. Against Seton Catholic the 1st set was a close set going to 25-23. However, in the 2nd and 3rd set the Trojans came out firing with the 2nd set of a scores of 25-15 and and 3rd set being 25-17.
Dallas Baptist University commit Sydney Simon (Jr) had an impressive performance with 14 kills averaging 4.7 kills per set. Elyse Wolf (So) had a great performance with 10 kills averaging 3.3 kills per set. Freshman Kaydence Hirsch played all 3 sets and racked up 12 points from serving. Pepperdine commit Sadie Wahlin (Jr) led the team in blocks with 5.
The Trojans took on the Coolidge Bears, and the Trojans came out on top. The 1st set was dominant by the Trojans with the score being 25-9. The 2nd set was a score of 25-15. The Trojans then wrapped it up in the 3rd set with a score of 25-11.
Sadie Wahlin (Jr) led the team with kills with 12 and averaged 4 kills per set. Behind her is Elyse Wolf (So) with 9 kills averaging 3 per set. Sadie and Elyse both had 1 block each. Ansley Venkatesh (Jr) had an impressive 24 assists.
Sadie also is #1 for hitting percentage and #2 in Arizona in blocks. Sydney is #14 in Arizona for hitting percentage.
Sadie Wahlin was asked what do you do to prepare for a tournament or a match. She answered with" I prep for games by visualizing myself on the court, playing my best. I also pray and lock in by taking a deep breath right before the game starts."
The Valley Christian Trojans look forward to the rest of the season and playoffs. The Trojans are looking forward to defending their state championship title.
