Last Tuesday the Valley Christian's Girls Soccer Team played Pusch Ridge Academy, facing a difficult opponent and came short with a 0-2 loss. During the first half of the game the Trojans fought hard and ended the half at 0-0. Pusch Ridge flipped the switch once they came back onto the field and dominated the midfield leading to two goals, but junior Melody Clauss made a lot of great saves.
The Trojans learned a lot from this game according to freshman Brielle Hunsaker, "we need to work on our communication skills and being more aggressive." This will be crucial for the Trojans going forward this season.
On Wednesday, January 11th, the Trojans will be heading across town to face the Chargers of Arete Prep and will be adding senior Kylie Brown to their roster. Before the season started Kylie was faced with an injury which sidelined her, but with rest she is finally able to return to the field. She shared, "I am really excited to be back on the team and to play my first game on Wednesday." The game at Arete will be the first region game for the Trojans. Make sure to show up at 5:00 PM to support your favorite girls soccer team.
Later this week, on Saturday, January 14th, the Trojans will be facing Tempe Prep for their first home region game at 12 PM. Make sure to show out and be loud!
GO TROJANS!
