The Lady Trojans started the season 6-0 before falling in the championship game to 6A Maricopa. In pool play the Lady Trojans defeated Chandler Prep, Maricopa, and Blue Ridge. While in bracket play they toppled Ben Franklin and Wilcox before ending their run in the Championship game. Ireland Strube was nearly unhittable on the weekend and Bree Hanzal threw an outstanding game in the semifinals to defeat Wilcox 4-3 in extra innings from a walk-off from Abbey Mello. Allie Livengood had a big two out two RBI hit in a close game, while Kat Hanson played stellar at shorstop. Victoria Clark batted nearly .600 in the tournament and the coach Fraley stated, "we just played good ball overall." The Lady Trojans start regular season play this week.
