Last Saturday, the Valley Christian Trojans volleyball team competed at the Arizona Veteran's Memorial Coliseum and captured the 3A State Championship with a 3-0 triumph over Snowflake. The last time the Lady Trojans faced the Lobos, they lost 2-1 in a neutral tournament but came back strong to claim the state title. Cara Braun led the Lady Trojans with 15 kills and Korah Nordin added 12 more for the team. Cara Braun also had 10 digs and Kylie Wong had led the Lady Trojans with an additional 20 digs. Kate Phillips had 2 blocks and Madison Brown-McAlpine assisted in 33 of the total points for the team. This is the 10th trophy for the girls volleyball program, the last one coming from 2009, when head Coach Lindy was still on the team.
