On Friday, September 19
th, the Trojans faced off against the Crismon Rattlers and went into the game undefeated, ready to try to keep their streak alive. This year the Trojans have shifted their mindset and have come out stronger than ever. The game was on hot fall night, but fans showed up full of excitement ready to watch this battle.
The first half of the game was a slow start, but the Trojans turned up the energy and punched in the first touchdown of the game. The defensive end was strong, racking up tackles by senior
Hudson Pickett with 12, junior
Noah Lewis with 7, along with senior Kris Schoenhals, sophomores
Porter Cross and
Caden Palmquest all with 4 tackles each. Valley Christian was fast in action and made sure whoever had the ball was brought down as fast as they could.
The Trojans held onto a lead of 28-7 by the end of the 3
rd quarter. While the Trojans weren't able to tack on any additional points in the last quarter, the team played hard and held Crismon to one additional touchdown. The energy and passion that was left on the field led to the Trojans being able to keep their streak alive and win with a final score of 28-14.
QB
Austin Schuder ('27) led the team well with 101 passing yards and 7 completions, setting up his receivers for some amazing plays. Standout leaders for rushing yards included Schuder, Palmquest, and
Caleb Goldman (26). The top 3 receivers of this game were
Caden Palmquest '28,
Asher Hanzal '26, and
Ethan Hodgson '26. The connecting passes between Schuder and his receivers have been a game changer this season for the Trojans.
The Trojans' next opponent against Benjamin Franklin is on September 25
th at 7pm. The Trojans hope to keep their perfect season alive for as long as they can, but they know it will be a tough fight against another undefeated team.
