Friday Night Buzz Kill

9/15/2025 9:20:00 AM

On September 5th, 2025, the Valley Christian Trojans dominated over the Blue Ridge Yellowjackets.  In the first quarter, running back Caleb Goldman scored a touchdown to set the tone for Valley Christian's offense. As the game continued the Trojans and the Yellowjackets patty-caked between offenses, scoring touchdown after touchdown until Valley Christian's defense put a stop on the Yellowjacket's offense.

As the Trojans sense the presence of victory in the air the final buzzer rings, game over, Valley Christian wins 38-24. Goldman scored a total of 5 touchdowns that game, showing the Yellowjackets who they were dealing with. Wide receiver Asher Hanzal broke the school record for most receiving yards in a player's high school career; he now holds two records in Valley history. The Trojans are looking good, starting off with a 3-0 season and much more to come.

Goldman, after the game, felt great scoring 5 touchdowns but was more grateful for his teammates. "It felt amazing to score touchdowns, but it was only possible due to my amazing line and the blocks from my receivers Asher and Colton," said Goldman. Colton Gauthier and Asher Hanzal provided not just open hands for the quarterback but provided space for Goldman to make his astonishing plays.

To sum it up Valley swatted Blue Ridge that night and the Yellowjackets drove home defeated. For the Yellowjackets are only as strong as the weakest in the hive and Blue Ridge executed just that. Valley closes out in prayer thanking God for their victory and praying for many more wins to come. This is just the beginning; the Trojans are not done just yet.
