Trojans continue win streak on the road with four dominant wins

The Trojans boys basketball team is off to a phenomenal start with a 16-3 record. Though they have three losses, each were to schools from 6A divisions and each one was within a margin of 5 points.  

As the Trojans continue fight for their fourth consecutive state title, they dominate their conference games, remaining undefeated within their conference.  

So far this season Colby Jessup ('26) has been a dominant force on the court, averaging 22 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists a game. He has been a key player in helping the Trojans succeed and will continue to show up for the remainder of the season.  

Senior Carson Grier ('25) has also been a tremendous help this season, averaging 15 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists per game. Standing at 6'7", he has been a leader on the court, controlling the direction of the ball and tipping the scales in the favor of the Trojans. When asked about this year's season senior Carson shared, "I've been excited to play in hard tournaments to start the season and to finish conference play strong." 

To wrap up some of their recent games, on Tuesday, January 14th, the Trojans hit the road to Coolidge and took home a dominant win, 84-36. Next, on Friday, January 17th, the Trojans took on the Thatcher Eagles, swiftly defeating them 94-41. This win came behind the leadership of Kyle Grier ('25) and his display of ball knowledge and defensive excellency by providing the Trojans with 12 rebounds, 21 points, and 5 assists. 

Continuing the win streak, the Trojans headed to Snowflake on Saturday, January 18th, to take on the Wolves, where they defeated them 85-57, extending their win streak to 7. 

On the road once again, the Trojans finally took on Rancho Solano Prep on Monday, January 20th, picking up one more W with a score of 76-43. All three teams won that night and the JV and FROSH teams remain undefeated as well. 

The Trojans will finish regular season play in February and are looking forward to competing in the first ever small schools open division for state. They are continuing to work toward a 4-peat. Make sure to come out and cheer them on!
