Softball Season Update

4/24/2024 4:40:00 PM

As the season progresses, the Valley Christian Softball team continues to work incredibly hard. As of right now, the girls have played a total of 21 games with a record of 18-2. They have 7 more regular season games before they head into the playoffs.

Our Varsity starting shortstop, senior Kat Hanson shared, "So far, I feel like our team has really improved since our first practice. Based off that, I believe we have a very good chance of going far in playoffs this year!"

The girls started off their season strong beating American Leadership Academy – Anthem South 25-1. Over the course of February and March the girls have continued to dominate teams, only losing to a 5A team, Mountain View High School, in tournament play. This is the first time that the Trojans have played in a tournament in years. Our Varsity starting first basemen, senior Caymen Ferber stated, "After playing so many games I feel incredibly confident in our team's ability to beat good teams, especially seeing how well we played in the tournaments. I am especially excited to play Sabino to see the how good I know our team can be team."

The team has their next game on April 9th against the three-time defending State Champions in 3A, the Sabino Sabercats. The Sabercats are currently number one in 3A whereas the Trojans are number five.

Our Varsity starting third basemen, junior Taya Clausen exclaims, "Sabino is going to be a tough game, but I think we are more than ready. We have worked extremely hard and have prepared for this game all season."

The team will continue their season throughout the rest of April, with big hopes of winning their region and making it to the State Championship. You got it girls! Keep on pushing through the season!
