It's time for Friday Nights Lights once again as two of the highest seeded teams in 3A and 2A faceoff this Friday, September 15th at 7 PM. Coming off the dominating win against Seton Catholic last week, the Trojans are equipped and ready to face the 2-1 Eagles from Scottsdale Christian Academy.
In Scottsdale Christian's most recent contest, a closely contested 20 – 23 home loss to the Pima Roughriders, SCA was led by wide receiver Andrew Trapp, who had 154 yards on 13 catches and wide receiver, and his brother Jacob Trapp, who had 75 rushing yards on 16 carries and 40 receiving yards on 3 catches in the game.
Senior kicker Wilson Kaehr commented when asked how he feels about the game on Friday, "I'm really excited to play and see what my team can do."
Senior Center, AJ Zvada, shared his mentality is going into this game, "they asked us to play them this year, so we're coming into the game prepared. Knowing that they were the ones asking us to come play them, we want to destroy them. We want to prove we're the best team in 3A." AJ also shared about the conditions of the game as they'll be playing on a turf field instead of a grass field, like the Trojans are used to. "The turf will be tough to play on and injury is definitely more prone to happen. We'll work through it and beat SCA."
This game will be held at Scottsdale Christian Academy at 7:00 pm, September 15th. The Trojans have prepared and worked hard for this week's game. Fans, show up and be loud!
For the second year in a row Valley Christian will be part of the Channel 12 News Show, Friday Night Fever, which is in its 34th season. This week tallied the most votes so far this season and both the VCS and SCA fan bases did a really great job in voting and making this game the chosen game of the week.
