On Friday September 7, The Valley Christian Trojans faced Seton Catholic Sentinels. The Sentinels were seeking to win their first game after going an abysmal 0-2 to start their season. The Trojans have come off an impressive start with a perfect record of 3-0. With these earlier games, it demonstrates their skill and determination for this upcoming season.
The Trojans started off blazing with a returning kick off touchdown by
Vince Robles. This was especially exciting for Robles as he had to sit out of the first game due to joining the season late. After an amazing performance from Robles in the Seton game, he reflected, "the first game back from a late start was tough. I had to put in a lot of work and work through some personal issues, but I stayed focused on my faith with prayer. Scoring on the first play of the game felt amazing. Although I feel like Seton may have not been the best competition, it was still a great game to learn from." Later, senior kicker
Wilson Kaehr made the extra point to make the score 7-0. Shortly after on defense, the Trojans' OLB
Jimmy Twombly forced a fumble causing DB
Aidan Richards to get possession of the ball and score. With this stunning turn of events, the game changing monumental moment left fans at the edge of their seats.
Throughout the game, senior
Caleb Lewis left a remarkable performance for the Trojans with his skill and determination. Scoring three touchdowns this dominating performance is one to remember. Caleb shared about his performance in the game. "I felt good. I got one step closer to the touchdown career recovery record. I also felt bad for Seton due to the situation we put them in." Caleb had a fantastic game and contributed to the Trojan victory.
With the Trojans hard efforts, they secured a dominate victory with a final score of 44-7.
This game was held at Seton Catholic High School on September 7
th. The students came prepared with their Hawaiian themed clothes to support their Trojans.
