The Valley Christian Boys Basketball Team went into their matchups last with a 5-game win streak under their belts. Friday night the Trojans were set to face off against ALA Ironwood, a solid 3A school.

The Trojans fell behind at the beginning of the game but came back to tie the score 19-19 at the end of the first quarter. The game was evenly matched, with both teams trading points back and forth.  The Trojans were able to hang on to a 4-point lead going into halftime, being ahead 39-35.  Coach Haagsma seemed to have motivated his players during halftime because they came into the 3rd quarter hitting shot after shot establishing a 16-point lead heading into the 4th quarter.  The Trojans finished strong, winning the game 73-57.  Junior Luke Shaw led the team with 29 points and Austin Wallace added 17.

The next day the Trojans played against the Holbrook Roadrunners. The fanbase from Holbrook filled up Bradley Gym before the game even started.  The Trojans came out strong and quickly built up a small lead, ending the 1st quarter ahead 17-12.  The second quarter was back and forth until the Trojans managed to build an even greater lead, going into the half up 11 points.

In the second half the Trojans stood strong on defense and started ramping up their scoring. They finished off the 3rd quarter with a 17-point lead, with the score being 55-38.  In the final quarter the Trojans continued to dominate and won the game 81-50.  Junior Luke Shaw again led with 31 points and sophomore Kyle Grier chipped in 19 points.

The Trojans improved their record to 15-1 for the season.  Their next matchup is another home game on Tuesday, January 10th, in Bradley Gym against the Pima Roughriders.
