The Trojans have been on fire this season, ever since losing their first game at Show Low. The Trojans are coming off a solid win against the Payson Longhorns, earning the victory with a score of 58-34. The team is currently 5 -1 and is looking to continue this 5-game win streak against the Tempe Buffaloes, who are currently winless and will be looking for their first win of the season.
This game means a lot for the season because it is a divisional game between the two, which could have playoff implications down the line.
When asked their thoughts on the upcoming game this Friday, Junior Gunnar Link said, "I think this will be a great game for our team. They are going to be physical and make us earn the win." Junior Isaiah Anderson added, "This game will be mentally challenging for us; they will be trying to get in our heads. Also, our defense needs to step it up and play to the level our offense has these last few games."
Junior Jimmy Twombly said, "We can't underestimate our opponent no matter what their record. We must go in there and play Trojan football."
Confirming Anderson's observation, the Trojan's offense has been unstoppable, scoring 16 touchdowns in the last 2 games.
Come support your Trojans this Friday, September 30th at Tempe High School. Kickoff is at 7 P.M. The theme was changed from camouflage to a blackout.
