Thursday night the Valley Christian Trojans traveled to the Fountain Hill Falcons to compete for a region title. Valley came into the game 7-2 (4-0 in the region) and Fountain Hills came in 5-4 (3-1 in the region). The Trojans came out victorious with a 73-14 win. This win secures a first-round home playoff game for the Trojans as they finished the season as region champions. If the Trojans were to lose, they would have been in a three-way tie with the Payson Longhorns and the Fountain Hill Falcons, which would have resulted in a tie breaker to determine the region champions.

Running back Ethan Tovar had another monster game rushing for 136 yards and had 3 touchdowns. Quarterback Hunter Heeringa also had an amazing game on the ground, running for a career high 2 touchdowns. He continued his dominating play through the air completing 21 of 30 passes and scoring 3 touchdowns. The Trojan defense was on fire as well, only allowing 14 points, less than 100 yards rushing, and had 4 interceptions, one from cornerback Cade Accomazzo, linebacker Isaiah Anderson, safety Gunnar Link, and cornerback Will Bastian. Will Bastian also picked up a fumble recovery, putting the Trojans' offense in excellent field position. The Trojans were 3 points away from tying the Valley record for most points scored in a game. This record was last set in 2016 with a 76-0 shutout against North Pointe.

The #8 Trojans host #9 Mohave in the first round of state playoffs this Friday at 7 PM at Benson Field. We need a big crowd! Student section – come out loud and proud in your construction gear! We're ready to do work!
