Coach Juist is from Clinton, Iowa, where he attended Iowa State University. There he played football, then transferred to and graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelors Degree in Business. He has been married to his wife, Kim, for 27 years. She is a Valley Christian substitute teacher. Together they have three kids, all of whom attended Valley Christian. Kyle graduated from Valley in 2019 and is currently the Head Coach of the Varsity Boys Soccer team. Abby graduated in 2021 and Libby will graduate in 2025.
Outside of coaching track, Coach Juist sells real estate and has a medical sales recruiting business. He has loved following his children in all of their sports and activities throughout their youth and they love to travel as a family.
About track and field, Coach Juist shares, "I have really enjoyed scouting talent around with school (with Mrs. Juist's assistance) and recruiting them to throw and watching them succeed at something that was never even on their radar. My goal is to continue to develop talent to set new Valley Christian records!"
