Collin Guelich

  • Title
    Assistant Coach
  • Coaching at VC Since
    2024
Coach Colling Guelich grew up in Chandler, AZ and stayed local for high school as well as college. He started swimming in junior high to rehab from basketball injuries and fell in love with the sport. Once he got to Hamilton High School, he started to take swimming more seriously and began competing. Collin ended up swimming on the club team at Grand Canyon University where he graduated in 2021 with a B.S. in Finance. His favorite swimming experience was competing in the collegiate club nationals at Ohio State University as he set personal bests in the 50 free, 100 free, 50 back, and 100 back to wrap up his career.

This is his first year coaching but he is so excited to coach alongside his brother and sister all season! They all swam one year of high school together when he was a senior and they were freshman so it's very cool to share this experience together now as coaches. Their mom was a high school graduate of VCS and their youngest brother (Micah) is currently a sophomore at VCS, so full circle moment for them!

Outside of coaching Collin has a passion for every sport in general, whether that be playing it himself or watching it on TV. He heavily supports the Arizona sports teams, but likes to travel to experience good matchups with a packed stadium and high-energy environment. He enjoys playing golf, playing fetch with his dog (Bear), and going to car shows on the weekends.

Coach Collin shared, "I'm excited to coach swimming at VC because I get to be around others who enjoy the sport, spend extra time with my siblings doing our shared passion, and supporting each athlete like I was supported when I was in high school and college. I had such a great experience as an athlete within this sport and want to provide the same experience for each individual on the team!"
