Troy grew up on a farm in North Dakota where he went on to become a Certified Athletic Trainer with a bachelor of science degree from the University of Mary in Bismarck. He then pursued a masters degree in Physician Assistant studies.
Troy moved to Phoenix in ‘93 and began volunteering as an Athletic Trainer at VCHS in 1994, where he has been serving ever since. Troy was the boys basketball assistant coach under Coach Haagsma for 24 years and was involved in 6 state titles.
He and his wife Shea, VCHS class of ‘93, have been married for 28 years. Together they have three children who all graduated from VCHS - Peyton (‘19), Jadon ('21) and Bree ('24).
Troy shared, "I love athletics and the competition and life lessons it teaches. I look forward to watching our students compete and will do all I can to keep them healthy and successful."
