Personal Information:

Jake grew up in Montana and graduated from Scobey High School in 1998. In high school he was a part of two state championship teams and a 34 game win streak. He went on to play college football at the University of Mary, in Bismarck, ND, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in education. Jake also spent a year at the University of Mary as an assistant coach after his senior season. Coach Petersen got his MBA from the University of Phoenix. Jake and his wife Lacy were married in 2005 and have two children Roman and Rylee, who are both students at Valley Christian Schools. Before coming to Valley Christian, Jake worked for Chandler Christian Academy as a teacher and Athletic Director. He is going into his 20th year of coaching football and has been part of the Valley Christian Football staff since 2014. Besides sports and fitness, Jake enjoys camping and fly fishing.

Jake believes a Christian education helps build the foundation for the rest of your life. We should be an extension of the Godly principles that are put in place at home and provide opportunities for each student to develop a solid relationship with God. Each student should use the guidance to spread God’s love in their community.
