Coach Gonzalez graduated from Santa Ana High School in 1999, where he played for the varsity team and contributed to winning state championship in 1998. His playing experience includes competing with the 1995 Wolf FC, where the team was able to secure three regional titles and earned second place in the state championship. He also played for Alacranes FC in the second professional division in Mexico (reserves) and later for the GCC in 2011. At Phoenix College, during the 2013-14 season, he was part of the team that won the state regional championship. Coach Gonzales furthered his education, graduating from SCC in 2014 and NAU in 2015.
His coaching career is extensive, including roles with Banat FC in 2008, Litchfeild FC in 2009, ECS Soccer Academy from 2010 to 2012, NFSC in 2017, LA Academia FC in 2019, YCOA in 2012, and CCV (recreational) in 2024. Coach Gonzales is deeply rooted in his faith, and he and his family attend Trinity Church and hold the Bible studies at home with friends. His three children, ages 6, 7, 9, and 14, attend Valley Christian Schools, reflecting their faith in Jesus Christ.
In his free time, Coach Gonzalez loves to fish, play guitar, play soccer, and spend time with his family. When he is coaching the soccer team he loves the focus of Jesus in every practice and every game. The team prays before and after their games which enforces the athletes and ther walk in faith.
