Personal Information:
Damon was born in San Diego and spent most of his early life in Northern California (San Jose-Sacramento), but spent his high school days in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Damon has been married 37 years to his wonderful wife, Cindy. He has three married children, Kylie (Geoff), Taylor (Robin) and Will (Vanessa), and has 7 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. His hobbies include football, baseball, golf, fishing, reading, traveling, and just hanging out with family. Damon is also a diehard Oklahoma Sooners Fan.
Prior to coming to VCS in March of 2018, Damon & his wife Cindy pastored a church they had started out of their living room in Sacramento, CA over 15 years ago. During that time Damon continued to coach baseball and football at Pleasant Grove and Sheldon High Schools. Prior to the Lord calling him into full-time pastoral ministry, Damon was a P.E. Teacher/Athletic Director, Football and Baseball Coach from 1980-2002 at Valley Christian (San Jose, CA), Willow Glen High (San Jose, CA), Yosemite High (Oakhurst, CA), and Capital Christian High (Sacramento, CA).
Damon enters into his last year as head coach at VC with a 72-13 overall record, two region championships, and two final fours in state eventually losing to the state champions both years. Damon is also the Athletic Director at Valley Christian Junior High. “It is a blessing to be in a program where the priority is to ‘Honor God, Work Hard, Stay Humble, = Great Rewards’. It’s an honor and a privilege to mentor, lead, and guide these young men.”
